I *thought* chicken was an OK food for me, because when I challenged it I had only a slight, transient headache. So, while on vacation, I ate a lot of it. And whether it was too much chicken, too much snorkeling, too much sun or too much sand, I don’t know, but I do know I had some major problems.
First it started with a really bad headache, which was followed a few days later with left hip pain, and then a general falling apart. (I got these same symptoms when I challenged peanuts, rice and fish, which is why I suspected chicken….).
I spent several nights not sleeping….first the headache kept me awake. Then the hip pain kept me awake. Then I’m wondering, “Is it the chicken?” And that thought kept me awake. Along with thoughts of “What am I going to eat?”
It was at dawn one morning that I felt God telling me that He was guiding me and that together we would figure it out.
That morning, a friend on FaceBook put up this verse: “If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalm 139:9-10
It was wonderful for me to read that verse, for I had risen at dawn that day, I was on the far side of the sea from where I lived, so I felt like that verse was meant especially for me! I felt reassured that I wasn’t in this food intolerance mess alone….that God was guiding me.
May you be assured too….God is guiding you and holding you close, no matter what you are facing!
