Sometimes I need to be encouraged. When a food doesn’t work for me, or my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) gets worse, or I have new symptoms that I don’t want, I can feel down and discouraged. That is when I really need some encouragement!

I don’t know about you, but I look to the small things in life and to my God to lift my spirits and give me the strength to keep going.

Recently, my CFS got worse. Much worse. I hate it when that happens! So, I turned to a Christian book that has encouraged me in the past….Max Lucado’s book: You’ll Get Through This: Hope and Help for Your Turbulent Times.

You Season with Love July 2015 008

You can see that I have a LOT of sticky notes in the book! This book is a great encouragement to me and I wanted to mention it in case you ever go through a tough time and need to read some encouraging words.

To feel encouraged, I also notice when God lets me know He’s there. Sometimes it is in the beautiful clouds or a colorful sunset or a delicate flower. Recently He showed me His love by making a heart in a pan that I was cooking in. Whenever I cook vegetables I add some water and a small amount of olive oil to the pan. After I added the oil, I walked away from the pan. When I returned, I noticed that the oil had formed a heart!

Isn’t it beautiful?

I just love it!

More importantly, I love the care that I feel from God when things like this happen. While I don’t understand (or like) my CFS or food intolerance issues, I can trust that God is with me and loves me. And those encouraging thoughts can help me get through a tough day (or week or month).

I pray that you may be encouraged today, whatever you are going through!

  1. Thank you for those words.
Where would we be without His love.
There is also encouragement to be found in Joni Eareckson Tada’s daily devotional coming out of
    her suffering.

    1. Heather~ Thanks for the recommendation of Joni’s devotional. It is always good to have encouraging words to read!

Yes, I would be quite hopeless without feeling God’s presence and love!!

      All the best to you,
