- This isn’t a recipe, but this post will tell you how you can make a LOT of recipes quickly in your Instant Pot if you have two additional items. One is a tempered glass lid, the other an extra inner pot. I also keep on hand a spare silicone ring because if mine ever goes bad, I don’t want to be waiting for a second one to arrive. (I can’t bear the thought of being without my Instant Pot for even two days!) Some people even have separate silicone rings….one for cooking sweet dishes and one for cooking savory dishes (think garlic and onion) so as to not mix smells from savory to sweet. Since I don’t make sweet dishes right now in my Instant Pot I haven’t gone that route, but I can see where it might be a good thing to do! My silicone ring is still good and I’ve had my Instant Pot for several years and use it daily, so an extra silicone ring isn’t really necessary unless you also can’t stand the thought of being without your Instant Pot!! Then it is good insurance. But, if you want to simplify your cooking in a pressure cooker, get the extra inner pot and glass lid! If you are like me, you will be SO glad you bought them!
Below you’ll see how I used the glass lid and extra inner pot to cook 5 things in one day in my Instant Pot Here are the recipes for what I made….well to be exact I didn’t make the Pea Soup, I made another soup that day which doesn’t have a recipe online so I substituted the Pea Soup so you’d get the idea that it is possible to make a LOT of things in one day in the Instant Pot if you have two inner pots. 🙂
It was SO much easier and very doable because I had the extra inner pot and didn’t have to keep cleaning the one I was cooking in (at least didn’t have to clean it right away!)
Oh, and one more item I have for my Instant Pot that you may want to consider….. I use a small square of this shelf liner (large enough to go under the entire Instant Pot) to keep it wiggle free. Since I travel with my Instant Pot, somewhere along the way, I lost one of the little rubberized feet. It came out and my pot wiggled a bit. Rather than buying more feet and losing more feet, I came up with the shelf liner idea! I hand wash it with dish soap from time to time and let it air dry and it works great!! Just thought you’d like to know in case you’ve lost some Instant Pot feet too. 🙂
Happy Instant Pot cooking!!!
